20 Easy Homemade Alcoholic Cocktails
1. Gimlet
Ingredients: ½ oz. sweetened lime juice, 1 1/2 oz. dry gin.
Method: Stir and serve with ice.You may serve vodka, rum or brandy in the same way.
2.Tom Collins
Ingredients: 11/2 oz. dry gin, juice of 1 lemon, 1 tbsp. sugar.
Method: Shake with the ice and pour out in glass, fill up with soda, decorate with a lemon wedge or a cherry. You may serve whisky, vodka, brandy or rum the same way.
3. Manhattans
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz. whisky, 1/2 oz. sweet vermouth, a dash of aromatic bitters.
Method: Stir with ice, pour into glass, and decorate with cherry. For dry Manhattan, use dry vermouth, garnish with a twist of lemon peel. Rum or brandy Manhattan the same way.
4. Martinis
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz. dry Gin, 1/2 oz. dry vermouth.
Ingredients: Stir with ice, strain into glass. Serve with a twist of lemon peel or olive. Vodka martini the same way
5. Screwdriver
Method: Place 1-1/2 oz. vodka in glass with ice.
Fill with orange juice and stir. Rum screwdriver the same way; use light Rum.
6. Sours
Method: Shake juice of 1 1/2 – 2 lemons, 1 1/2 oz. whisky, and 1 tbsp. sugar, 2 dashes of aromatic bitters, strain into glass, prepared with cherry and slice of lemon. Rum sour, vodka sour or brandy sour, same way.
7. Gin and Tonic
Method: Juice of 1/4 lemon in glass prepared with ice cubes. Pour 1 1/2 oz. dry gin and fill with tonic water. Vodka and tonic, rum and tonic same way.
8. Grog
Method: 2 oz. rum, 3 oz. hot apple juice and a dash of lemon juice. Stir and serve in a mug, with a sprinkling of cinnamon powder.
9. Gin Punch
Method: Combine juice of 6 lemons, juice of 10 oranges and one bottle of in gin with ice in a punch bowl. Decorate with fruit slices. Add two bottles of soda before serving.
10. Bloody Mary
Method: 1 1/2 oz. vodka, 3 oz. thick tomato juice, 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice. Dash of salt and pepper a few drops of Worcestershire sauce (optional). Shake well with cracked ice, strain and pour out in glass with ice cubes.
11. Bronx
Method: Combine 1/2 oz. orange juice, 1 oz. dry gin, 1/2 oz, dry vermouth, 1/2 oz. sweet vermouth. Shake well with ice. Pour into glass prepared with ice cubes and slices of orange.
12. Cobblers
Method: Dissolve 1 tsp. sugar with 2 oz. soda. Fill glass with cracked ice. Add 1 1/2 oz. whisky. Stir well and serve with slice of orange. Same way with brandy cobbler, rum cobbler, gin cobbler.
13. Daiquiri
Method: Dissolve 1 tbsp sugar in juice of 1/2 lemon. Add cracked ice and 1-½ OZ. white rum. Shake well and strain into glass
14. Cold Gin Sling
Method: 1-1/2 oz. gin and 1 tbsp. sugar add ice and sprinkle nutmeg powder.
Same way cold whisky sling
15. Rum Lemonade
Method: Pour 1-1/2 oz. rum over ice cubes in tall glass, fill with lemonade.
16. Rum and Cola
Method: Combine 1-1/2 oz, rum and juice of 1/2 lemon in glass prepared with ice cubes and lemon peel. Fill with cola.
17. Planter’s Punch
Method: Combine 2-1/2 oz. golden rum, juice of 2 lemons, 1 tsp sugar and if preferred, 2 dashes of aromatic bitters. Shake together with cracked ice. Pour un-strained into glass; fill with soda and garnish with slices of lemon and orange and a cherry.
18. Snowball
Method: Stir together 1 1/2 oz. whisky, beaten white of 1 egg and 1 tsp. sugar. Top up glass with ginger soda.
19. Hot Toddy
Method: Dissolve 1 cube or 1 tsp. sugar in glass with little hot water. Add twist of lemon or orange peel, 4 cloves and 1 1/2 oz. whisky. Top up glass with hot water. Make hot toddies also with rum or brandy.
20. Zingara
Method: Dissolve 1 tbsp. honey in 2 oz. hot milk. Add 1 1/2 oz. rum. Stir and serve.
