Dakor na Gota
These are a type of bhujias (fritters) very popular in Gujarat and derive their name from a town in that state.
You will need –
- 1- 1/2 cup gram flour (slightly coarser than usual, if possible)
- 1/2 cup (Semolina) Sooji
- 1 tsp. powdered (Fenugreek) methi seeds
- 1 tblsp. coriander seeds
- 1/2 tblsp. cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp. soda-bi-carb
- Salt
- sugar and chili powder to taste
- 1/2 cup sour curd
- 2 tblsp. Oil
- 1 tblsp. coriander seeds
- 1/2 tblsp. pepper corns coarsely powdered
- Oil for frying.
Method:
Powder the coriander and cumin seeds together. Mix gram flour, semolina, and all the other ingredients. Heat the oil before adding. Make a thick batter, adding required amount of water or milk. Form into small round balls and deep fry till reddish brown. Drain on a paper.
