Khichadi with Beans
You will need –
1 1/2 cup rice, 1 1/2 cup fresh beans (shelled from fresh pods), 3/4 inch ginger, 2 green chillies, 1/2 tsp. turmeric, salt to taste, 2 tblsp. Ghee, 1-1/2 inch cinnamon, 6 cloves
Method:
Grind together the ginger and chillies. Bring 4 cups water to boil, add the washed and drained rice and beans, along with the turmeric, salt and chilli and ginger paste. Cook covered, on a low heat. When half done, heat the ghee, add cinnamon and cloves to it and pour on the Khichadi. Add more hot water if necessary; cook till done, slightly on the softer side.
