It grows best in mild to cool weather and prefers a location that receives at least five to six hours of direct sunlight daily. Adequate sunlight helps the plant stay compact and encourages abundant flowering, while low light often results in weak stems and fewer flowers.
Well-drained soil is essential for healthy growth. A light loamy soil enriched with compost or well-rotted manure works very well for Hoary Stock. The soil should not hold excess water, as waterlogging can easily damage the roots. If growing in pots, ensure proper drainage holes and use a good quality potting mix. Slightly alkaline to neutral soil conditions are ideal for this plant.
Watering should be done carefully and in moderation. Keep the soil slightly moist but never soggy. Overwatering can cause root rot, especially in colder months. Watering in the morning is recommended, and during winter, reduce the frequency, allowing the top layer of soil to dry slightly before the next watering.
Regular feeding helps improve flower quality and fragrance. Applying a balanced liquid fertilizer or organic compost every fifteen to twenty days supports steady growth. Pest problems are usually minimal, but aphids and caterpillars may occasionally appear. Spraying neem oil or using mild organic pest control solutions can effectively protect the plant. Regular inspection of leaves and stems keeps pest issues under control and ensures healthy growth throughout the season.

मिट्टी का चयन Hoary Stock के लिए बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। अच्छी जल निकास वाली, हल्की दोमट मिट्टी जिसमें गोबर की सड़ी खाद या वर्मी कम्पोस्ट मिला हो, पौधे को मज़बूत बनाती है। मिट्टी का pH हल्का क्षारीय या न्यूट्रल रहना बेहतर होता है। गमले में उगा रहे हों तो नीचे ड्रेनेज होल ज़रूर रखें ताकि पानी जमा न हो।
पानी देने में संतुलन ज़रूरी है। मिट्टी को हल्का नम रखें लेकिन ज़्यादा पानी देने से जड़ें सड़ सकती हैं। सर्दियों में पानी कम मात्रा में दें और गर्म दिनों में मिट्टी सूखने पर ही सिंचाई करें। सुबह का समय पानी देने के लिए सबसे अच्छा माना जाता है।
Hoary Stock पौधे को समय-समय पर हल्की खाद देने से फूलों की संख्या और खुशबू दोनों बढ़ती हैं। हर 15–20 दिन में तरल जैविक खाद या फूलों के लिए बनी खाद का प्रयोग किया जा सकता है। नाइट्रोजन बहुत ज़्यादा न दें, वरना पत्तियाँ तो घनी होंगी लेकिन फूल कम आएँगे।
फूलों को लंबे समय तक बनाए रखने के लिए मुरझाए हुए फूलों को नियमित रूप से तोड़ते रहें। इससे पौधे की ऊर्जा नए फूल बनाने में लगती है। अगर पौधा बहुत लंबा और कमजोर लगने लगे तो हल्की छंटाई भी की जा सकती है।
कीटों से बचाव के लिए नीम तेल का हल्का छिड़काव उपयोगी रहता है। एफिड्स और कैटरपिलर जैसे कीट कभी-कभी इस पौधे को नुकसान पहुँचा सकते हैं, इसलिए हफ्ते में एक बार पत्तियों की जाँच ज़रूर करें।
